As a global provider of genetically engineered mouse models and in vivo services, GemPharmatech works to share its technical expertise with the next generation of researchers. To date, the company has run nine training programs of this kind, reaching nearly 200 technicians and students.
The collaboration with CHA University is one such initiative, facilitated by Raon Bio, a Seoul-based distributor of laboratory animal models and equipment that represents GemPharmatech in South Korea and works closely with CHA University. Following a pilot program in December 2025, the August 2026 session expanded into a systematic, multi-level training experience designed to build participants' technical capabilities.

The first session covered core procedures in assisted reproductive techniques in mice, with a focus on the principles underlying in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo transfer. Topics included superovulation protocols, selection of high-quality oocytes, sperm capacitation, and recipient preparation for embryo transfer.
The second session addressed fundamental operating principles, proper selection and use of laboratory consumables, basic risk management, and relevant animal welfare considerations — giving participants a structured foundation.
For participants, the program offers two forms of value: techniques they can apply directly to their academic research now, and preparation for future roles in the field.
"Through the two training sessions, I was very impressed not only by GemPharmatech, but also by the overall level of preclinical research, facility management, and operational standards in China, especially the strong infrastructure for GEM mouse models. I hope that GemPharmatech's continuously advancing preclinical technologies and experimental techniques will provide valuable learning opportunities and practical experience for students at CHA University," said Dr. Bohwan Jin, Manager of Research Affairs at CHA University.
Raon Bio's staff joined the training alongside CHA University's graduate students, reflecting the close ties that helped bring this program together.
"Last week, graduate students from CHA University and Raon Bio staff participated in a three-day IVF and product training program at GemPharmatech. The training gave us a deeper understanding of GemPharmatech's technology and products, and it was a valuable opportunity for both our customers and staff to learn together and explore future collaboration. We will continue to provide our customers with better service through professional products and technical support," said Dr. Jong-sung Na, CEO at Raon Bio.
GemPharmatech founder Dr. Xiang Gao has long supported this kind of training. "We're part of a global community of scientists, and sharing what we know benefits the field as a whole," Dr. Gao said. "Important research happens in labs of every size, everywhere — supporting today's students supports tomorrow's discoveries."
With two training collaborations with CHA University now complete, the relationship between the two institutions continues to grow. Past exchanges have included on-site visits by GemPharmatech scientists, remote technical support sessions, and joint research seminars.
