Regional Sales & Business Development Manager - Southern CA Region

We are seeking a scientifically fluent, relationship-driven sales professional to join our Business Development & Sales team in Southern California, with primary responsibility for the San Diego and La Jolla biotechnology and pharmaceutical market. This home-based role is focused on developing new business and growing existing industry accounts. You will work closely with customers to understand their scientific and business needs, connect them with the right GemPharmatech products and services, and coordinate internally to deliver high-quality solutions. The role will also build relationships with academic and nonprofit researchers and support opportunities that arise through those relationships.

• Develop new business and expand relationships within biotechnology and pharmaceutical accounts across Southern California, with primary focus on the San Diego / La Jolla market.

• Present GemPharmatech's genetically engineered mouse models, custom model solutions, breeding capabilities, and preclinical CRO services to scientific and business stakeholders.

• Build durable, institution-level relationships across the life-sciences community, with primary commercial focus on biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations.

• Drive territory revenue growth and expand GemPharmatech's market presence through disciplined account development and opportunity management.

• Serve as a responsive commercial partner to customers and coordinate with internal scientific, operational, and project teams to support successful engagements.

• Identify and engage key opinion leaders (KOLs) and help develop potential scientific collaborations between GemPharmatech and external partners.

• Represent GemPharmatech at local and national conferences, industry events, customer meetings, and scientific programs.

• Provide actionable market intelligence on customer needs, emerging trends, competitors, and new business opportunities.

• Advocate for the value of genetically engineered mouse models and high-quality in vivo research in biomedical discovery.

• Represent GemPharmatech's values with professionalism, scientific integrity, reliability, and a customer-first mindset.

• PhD in a life sciences discipline required.

• 3-5+ years of experience in life-science sales or business development, preferably selling to biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations.

• Experience selling preclinical pharmacology, in vivo research, or CRO services strongly preferred.

• Knowledge of genetically engineered mouse models and their use in biomedical research preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to build trusted customer relationships, navigate complex sales cycles, and overcome commercial obstacles.

• Strong scientific communication and presentation skills, with the ability to discuss technical concepts credibly with researchers and decision-makers.

• Excellent written communication, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

• Ability to work independently in a home-based environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including R&D, product management, marketing, project management, production, and quality assurance.
