Microbiota Extraction and Transplantation

Microbiota extraction and transplantation is an essential technique for studying symbiotic bacteria. By transplanting human or animal fecal bacteria, we can study the interaction between gut microbiota and hosts, the relationship between gut microbiota and the development of diseases, and the effects of gut microbiota on the treatment of diseases. GemPharmatech has established a  standardized Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) system, which covers the  process from sample preservation to isolation and extraction, to in vivo transplantation, to phenotypic assessment, and to sequencing analysis.

Advantages:

  • Advanced BACRTON anaerobic chambers are used for microbial isolation protecting intestinal anaerobic strains from external disturbances (e.g., oxygen).

  • A well-designed special cryoprotectant is used to maintain the activity of microbiota.

  • A well-established Tecniplast ISOcage + IBS system can enable higher throughput experiments compared with traditional isolators.

  • Comparing the donor and recipient microbiota can determine the transplantation efficiency.
