Phenotypic Analysis 

In 2012, we have joined the International Mouse Phenotype Consortium (IMPC), and completed the construction of an internationally standardized phenotypic analysis platform in 2013. The standardized analysis process begins at 9.5 days in the embryonic period of mice and ends at 16 weeks in the adult period of mice, covering 20 major tests including cardiovascular, facial features, energy metabolism, bone, neural behavior, blood biochemistry, blood cells, and tissue morphology for phenotypic screening of mice. As the only member of IMPC in China, we had completed the analysis of 250 strains and uploaded the research results to the DCC platform for data sharing. At present, based on the platform of phenotypic analysis, a phenotypic analysis service system including tumor, metabolism, overall phenotypic screening, and pharmacology and pathology has been established in combination with the self-developed new models of severely immunodeficient mice, such as NCG and immunocheckpoint humanized mice.


Metabolic cage experimentIndirect Calorimetry

PrincipleAfter using standard gas calibration instrument accuracy of gas detection, feeding the mice in the metabolic cages, avoided human disturbance, by measuring the change gases (oxygen and carbon dioxide) in mice breathing entropy calculation, heat production, real-time detect changes of food intake in mice, and real-time activity in mice by infrared through frequency calculation.

Mouse bone density and body fat ratio (DEXA)

PrincipleBone mineral content and density were measured, and body composition (fat and lean meat content) of mice were analyzed using Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry.
